School Performance

SLArts School report card

The Utah School Report Card is how the Utah State Board of Education measures school performance in general. Like a student report card, it can’t capture everything that makes a school effective or reflect the nuances of school culture and community. Still, we consistently outscore schools statewide, and we’re proud of our student growth. Growth measures how much students improve from one year to the next, based on proficiency data from the RISE test in ELA, Math, and Science.

School Assessments: RISE

SLArts students take the state-mandated RISE Assessments in May each year. RISE measures student “proficiency” in three subjects. Students receiving a “3” or a “4” on their RISE test are deemed proficient or excelling on grade-level material in that subject. RISE data is a “snapshot in time” and only tells part of the student achievement story. See scores below.

At SLArts, we continue to evaluate students on PEPR (Participation, Effort, Preparation, and Risk-Taking) and CAB (Cooperation, Attitude, and Behavior) in addition to Proficiency, in the belief that cultivation of these additional qualities contributes to student achievement.
